Based in Nairobi, Kenya

Hi, I'm Owen. I work with database infrastructure and enterprise platforms.

I'm a Graduate Management Trainee at Computech Limited. Most of my work is around installing and deploying Oracle Database Appliance (ODA) and Oracle DB Systems. I also spend time with Linux, containers, and the infrastructure that keeps things running.

What I work on

My main focus is database infrastructure. I also spend time learning and working with the platforms around it.

Oracle database infrastructure

Installing and deploying Oracle Database Appliance and Oracle DB Systems in enterprise environments. This is where most of my technical work sits.

Oracle Database Appliance · DB Systems

Enterprise platforms

Working with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Kubernetes, containers, and observability as part of a wider infrastructure stack.

RHEL · Kubernetes · Containers

Personal labs

Experimenting with deployment workflows and automation, including Pulse, a custom monitoring dashboard for my RHEL server.

Linux · Grafana · Automation

Things I'm building

A few personal projects that have pushed me to learn something new. They're at different stages of development.

sb-hub

A Go CLI for creating, managing, and cleaning up temporary Docker-based development environments without the usual container setup hassle.

GoDockerCLI

Wepesi

An in-progress rental billing and property management application, covering properties, tenants, leases, invoices, and payments.

PythonPostgreSQLWeb app

H3LA

A personal finance automation idea for turning M-Pesa confirmations into more useful records and insights. Currently in the specification stage.

A bit about me

I'm interested in the foundations that make technology work—the servers, databases, platforms, and processes behind the applications people use every day.

At Computech Limited, I'm learning through hands-on database infrastructure work. Outside the job, I like testing things in my own environment, figuring out why they break, and building tools that solve problems I've actually run into.

Happy to connect about databases, infrastructure, personal projects, or an interesting idea you're working on.
